Academic Vocabulary: 20% What’s New in Team 120? Barton Elementary 2017-2018 2nd Grade October 2, 2017 Math Game Night Grading Policy Come out and enjoy a night of mental math games with all of our second grade classroom families, Thursday, October 19th. Game night will begin at 4:30pm. Category Weights for Every Content Area: Exams: 30% Assignments: 20% Academic Vocabulary: 20% Participation: 20% Homework: 10% Students are held accountable for 1 in class assignment grade and 1 exam grade per week. New Reading Levels! Beginning the week of October 2nd students will take their one on one beginning of the year reading level assessment. Your child will be assessed in the beginning, middle and end of the year to determine their reading level. In the beginning of the year second graders are expected to be at a level I and first graders are expected to be at level C. By the end of the year second graders are expected to be at a level L and first graders are expected to be at a level I. Open House! Barton Elementary School will be hosting open house on Monday, October 16th from 9:30am-11:00am. Parents will have the opportunity to visit the classrooms and observe instruction in action.
