Current Versions of Watermark Toolkits Currently there are two basic versions of the watermark study software toolkits: WasserZeichen Studio (WZS). Watermark Toolkit (WMT).
Wasserzeichen Studio WZS is the most sophisticated watermark toolkit. The current version of WZS was developed in the frame of WZIS project. WZS is used for: Digital processing of watermark images. Population and management of WZS concordant watermark databases. Computer-aided analysis of watermarks.
Functionality of WZS Functionality of the current WZS accumulates the functionality of the watermark study software toolkits developed in the frames of previous joint projects INTAS and “Bernstein”. Practically each of you proposed at least one existing WZS feature during our joint research into the current version of WZS.
WZS Main Interface Form
WZS Remarks It should be emphasized that the developed advanced features of the WZS can be reached only if WZS works in conjugation with a WZS concordant watermark database. The used WZS concordant watermark database can be hosted on a local or remote MySQL server.
Watermark Toolkit WMT is a simplified version of the developed watermark study software packages. The main features of WMT are : Watermark image enhancement Computer-aided measuring of watermark metric parameters Geometrical transformations of watermark images Export / Import tabulated values of the measured watermark image parameters
WMT Main Interface Form The Watermark Toolkit system displays watermark images in the natural size in all interface forms even they have different resolution. It rescales all images “in the fly”.
Watermark Image Enhancement The visual quality of watermark images is corrupted by a set of artifacts and distortions: Low image contrast. Non-uniform image background. Noise
Digital Processing of Watermark Images The special locally adaptive algorithms and software tools were developed to enhance image quality and get watermark images with the normalized visual quality. The original wateramrk images and images with the enhanced (normalized) quality are shown in the next slide.

WMT: Computer-Aided Measuring of Watermark Metric Parameters WMT doesn’t use any watermark database. WMT collects, saves and exports the measured predefined set of watermark parameter values in a local watermark parameter CSV table.

Watermark Toolkit The Watermark Toolkit system displays watermark images in the natural size in all interface forms even they have different resolution. It rescales all images “in the fly”.
Watermark Metric Parameteres WMT is designed to measure and save up to 6 metric parameters of the watermark image under processing: Width of watermark Height of watermark Distance between chain lines + 3 optional metric parameters.
Watermark Parameter Measuring Form The Watermark Parameter Measuring form plays four following basic roles: Collects the measured watermark parameter values; Creates and populates the watermark parameter table; Export the watermark parameter table values to a text Comma-Separated Values (CSV) file; Import the watermark parameter table values from a CSV file.

Watermark Toolkits Software WZS and WMT software are written in the C++ language and works under Windows XP or higher operating system. WZS and WMT software packages have context dependent help systems.
