Magna Carta 1215 King John of England Limited the power of the king and forms Parliament Establishes the idea of habeas corpus Citizens can not be held unless there is proof of the crime Basis for US Constitution and Bill of Rights

Glorious Revolution James II disliked Disobeyed Parliament Practiced Catholicism James has a male heir to the throne with his second wife who would practice Catholicism. Parliament was unwilling to have another Catholic king.
