Presentation transcript:

It is a natural radioactive gas that you cannot see, smell or taste. WHAT IS RADON? It is a natural radioactive gas that you cannot see, smell or taste. Radon is naturally occurring in soil and enters buildings through their foundations. Sometimes high levels of radon can accumulate.

High levels of radon buildup is the 2nd leading cause of lung cancer in Canada. Second only to smoking. Levels of radon vary from house to house. Health Canada recommends that every house be tested for radon.

WHAT CAN I DO? Radon test kits are available at Home Depot and Home Hardware stores across Canada for around $30. It is important to purchase a long-term test kit that stays in your home for at least 3 months. The purchase price should include shipping and laboratory fees to analyze the results.
