Egyptian gods and goddesses By: Miguel Tavares

Ptah PTAH IS AN EGYPTIAN GOD. HIS SYMBOL IS THE DJED PILLAR AND THE BULL. HIS HUSBAND/WIFES ARE SEKHMET AND BAST. PTAH DOES NOT HAVE A FATHER OR MOTHER. SOME PEOPLE THINK PTAH WAS SELF-CREATED OR WAS UNCREATED. HE IS THE GOD OF ALL CREATION, THE ARTS AND FETRTLILITY AND CRAFTSMEN. HE WAS THE FATHER OF NEFERTUM AND MAAHES. SOME PEOPLE THINK PTAH’S NAME IS UNCLEAR BECAUSE THE PROPER TRANSLATION OF HIS NAME IS “OPENER” BECAUSE HE WATCHED OVER THE OPENING OF THE MOUTH CEROMONY OR “SCULPTOR” BECAUSE HE WAS THE GOD OF CRAFTSMEN AND CREATION.
