ESSA Every Student Succeeds Act West Virginia Consolidated State Plan Submitted to US Department of Education The plan is to provide financial assistance to local school districts with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families to help ensure that ALL children meet challenging State academic standards.

West Virginia Department of Education MISSION The West Virginia Board of Education establishes policies and rules to assure implementation of West Virginia's Education goals and to ensure the general supervision, oversight and monitoring of a thorough and efficient educational system. Goal The West Virginia Board of Education will provide a statewide system of education that ensures all students graduate from high school prepared for success in high-quality postsecondary opportunities in college and/or careers.

LINCOLN COUNTY SCHOOLS Vision Statement Lincoln County Schools will prepare today’s learner to be tomorrow’s leaders. Alice in Wonderland One day Alice came to a fork in the road. “Which road do I take?” she asked. “Where do you want to go?” responded the Cheshire cat. “I don’t know.” Alice answered. “Then,” said the cat, “it doesn’t matter”. .

Where do I go from here? Consider three major goals you want to accomplish this school year Why do you want to accomplish this? What evidence will be observed to determine if you are making progress with this goal? What is required for you to have success with these accomplishments? Do you have a timeline or time frame over the school year for this to be accomplished? Record the dates for each item. Does this goal requiring effort, time and collaboration to be accomplished successfully? 10 minute break

Wall Walk As you complete your task, find a small and large clip and put your name or initials on the clip. Start where the red, blue, yellow or purple foot is on the wall. Do a wall walk by reading the poster on the wall, starting with the color you choose. Walk and read until you return to the foot from which you started. As you are reading the poster, find a poster that you feel strongly about and place the big clip, if you should find another poster that is also important to you place the little clip on it.
