Houston Market Movements The EDGE Information and news that gives you an edge in the real estate business Houston Market Movements Housing starts nationally have fallen from last month's nine-year high, but the onset of the winter season is considered a strong factor behind the month-over-month slowdown. The fact remains that homebuilder confidence has reached its highest point in more than 10 years, and the housing market is rounding out the year in a rather solid position. In the Houston region, for the week ending December 11: • New Listings increased 0.8% to 1,777 • Pending Sales increased 16.5% to 1,402 • Closed Sales increased 5.1% to 1,319
