PSAT: You (honor Student) should take it
PSAT : (Preliminary SAT) What is the PSAT? The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test is a standardized test that provides firsthand practice for the SAT. What does the PSAT test? The PSAT/NMSQT measures: Critical reading skills Math problem-solving skills Writing skills
PSAT : (Preliminary SAT) Why should I take it? Completing the PSAT scores can help a student become more familiarized with the structure, content, and pacing for a college entrance exam, which can indicate future performance on the SAT/ACT. Taking the PSAT as a 10th grader can ease some of a student’s test anxiety about future college entrance exams. Taking the PSAT as a 10th grade helps a student know about the test before he/she takes it as an 11th grader, when the test counts for the National Merit Scholarship Program.
PSAT (Wednesday, 10/25 @ MHS) As sophomores, the PSAT serves as a practice SAT exam, and we encourage our highest achieving 10th graders (top 10% of the class) to take the test. As juniors, PSAT test takers can take the exam, and if their results are strong enough, then individual students may receive recognition and scholarships as National Merit Scholars/Finalists.
PSAT : Wednesday, 10/25 The PSAT will be administered during the school day on 10/25. Pre-registered students will be excused from their morning classes on 10/25. Registration deadline: Wednesday, 9/21. Specific Details: To register for the PSAT: Go to the Guidance Office and sign-up for the test by paying the PSAT registration fee of $25 (checks made payable to Maryville High School) to Mrs. McClanahan.
