Essential Question What is a transcendental function?

Transcendental Function A transcendental function is a function that “transcends” algebra It cannot be expressed in terms of algebraic operations of addition, multiplication, and root extraction. Examples of transcendental functions include the exponential function, logarithm, and trig functions

Natural log In other words, ln x is equal to the area under the hyperbola over [1,x]
