Monday, April 25 Review Topic : Classification and Taxonomy You will need: A pencil or pen Bootcamp STAAR Review Packet Agenda: Review Topic : Classification and Taxonomy (TEK 8B & 8C) You will not need: Your electronic devices. Put them in your backpack (not your pocket or anywhere on your person).

Boot Camp Day #15 Arrange Domain and Kingdom Cards (3 min) Place Kingdom Characteristic Cards (5 min.) Place Organism Examples under the correct kingdom (15 min) Add info to packet Classification and Taxonomy (TEK 8B & 8C) Background Info – Pg. 31 (3 minutes)

Essential Question How can a biologist tell if two organisms belong to the same kingdom?

Activities and Questions 1. Locate the envelope containing the Domain and Kingdom cards. Make sure you have plenty of space on your table, and then place the domain cards in a row as shown, with Archaea on the left.

Activities and Questions 2. Place the Kingdom Characteristics cards beneath the domains to which they belong. Use the Domain–Kingdom Arrows to indicate precisely the domain to which each kingdom belongs.

Activities and Questions 3. Now, select a kingdom characteristics card from the envelope and place it under the appropriate kingdom (see below). Continue until all of the cards are correctly placed. Leave these cards in place.
