Kingfisher Class Term 5 Stonehenge Music ICT We will be continuing our weekly singing with Caroline. The children learn a range of songs from different cultures and consider the pitch, rhythm and beat of the songs. We will continue to work on the songs for the Small School’s Music Festival. ICT Our ICT skills will be refined in other curricular areas. We will be using the internet for research in history and for presenting our work in a variety of ways. We will be practising using our programming and modelling skills using Scratch. Science This term we will begin to study Humans which will continue into term 6. This will enable us to look in depth at how our bodies work and how we can keep ourselves healthy. We will take the opportunity to further develop our skills of scientific investigation. Kingfisher Class Term 5 Stonehenge PSHE In PSHE we will be thinking about our own strengths and weaknesses. We will consider how we can make ourselves more resilient and able to cope with the ups and downs of life. History Our historic studies will be based on the ancient monument Stonehenge. We will look at how the monument was built and why it was built. We will consider what the lives of the people building the monument were like and how we know this. Art We will be using our sketching skills during the visit to Stonehenge. We will refine our use of watercolours to make backgrounds for silhouettes. MFL We will continue to practice songs we have learnt in French. We will look at the names of different rooms in our homes and the names of different types of homes. The children will practice writing simple sentences using the vocabulary taught. PE We will continue to have two PE sessions, one of which is swimming.; the other session will be Kwik cricket .
