2016 Maintenance Innovation Challenge Title PROBLEM STATEMENT Can a tool be created to mitigate the damage to the V-Tail mount bracket? BENEFITS The use of this tool will save a minimum of 24-48hrs downtime per aircraft and roughly $100K yearly in engineer disposition costs. TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION Fabricate edge protectors for the titanium gussets as well as an extractor to remove the bolt without damaging the fracture critical part. GRAPHIC
