We might ask ourselves why we believe the things we do about love We might ask ourselves why we believe the things we do about love. Why do we think that love puts the other first, is given freely and completely, etc.? As believers, we find the answer in the nature of God. The Mystery of the Trinity—that God is three distinct Persons who give the gift of self to each other from all eternity— is the blueprint of all love. Love as the gift of self is represented in this book by arrows of reciprocal giving and receiving, which is always open to another. In this diagram, the Father and Son give the gift of self to each other, and the Holy Spirit, Who always existed, is the “fruit” or bond of their union. THIS IS THE BLUEPRINT, THE BRANDING, THE STAMP OF EVERYTHING THAT EXISTS! The Gift of Self for Fruitful Communion
