Writing the cookbook The purpose The content Give a set of guidance rules in order to foster Wheat data interoperability. Establish a set of tools to allow users to work with semantic technologies without getting stuck in the mud of the semantic web. The content Interoperability scenarios Importance of metadata and vocabularies Recommendations that should be followed for data representation (documenting, describing, structuring...)

Writing the cookbook (2) The methodology Data formats: What are the existing data formats for these data types? Are they standards? Are they interoperable enough? What existing data formats should be recommend?  (we will make use of the existing metadata standards mentioned in the survey results and also check in the DCC metadata standards repository : http://www.dcc.ac.uk/resources/metadata-standards ) What is missing in the current data formats? Is it possible to map data formats used in the context of the same data type? (in a very basic level) Data model: Can RDF be proposed  for these data formats?

Writing the cookbook (2) Controlled vocabularies: What existing ontologies are used by each of the data types (ranked in the survey)? What ontologies are used by theses data formats (those most voted)? Are these data formats (survey) recommending the use the same or similar? Are these ontologies linked and using linked data technologies? What controlled vocabularies (ontologies) can be recommend for populating the data sets in the Wheat Data context? Methodologies: What guidelines should be used for describing dataset of each data type to maximize the accessibility, understanding and re-usability? What metadata standard(s) should be recommended to improve data quality?

Writing the cookbook (2) Identification schemes: What identification scheme should be recommended (dereferencable DOIs?, other) Assessing Wheat data quality
