SPS EN-CV Planning LS2 2019-2020 (initial draft)

Annual Planned Maintenance 2019 2020 Ventilation Ventilation Chilled Water Chilled Water Puisards Puisards Cooling Towers Cooling Towers Demineralised Water NOTE: After running tests (for CV and users) it is expected to stop all demineralised water circuits mid- January 2019 and to have them all in service by the end of July 2020. In order to achieve this all equipment needs to be available (Magnets, power convertors etc.). RF upgrade works at BA3 may be a specific exception.

Specific maintenance for Long Shutdown Long shutdown preventive maintenance: Mechanical and/or chemical cleaning of heat exchangers Safety requirements (vessels,..) Mechanical revision of valves, pumps, ..replacement of piping component (flexible sleeves) Maintenance of busbar for power cubicles. Instrumentation calibrations Bugs fixing and functionnal tests. Corrective maintenance already foreseen: LSS1 ED & AC flexible hoses to be replaced ED circuits – replacement of manual isolating valves TDC2/TCC2 manual valve replacement

Others major corrective actions CT2 drift eliminator & packing replacement 863 ‘chimney’ acoustic baffles to replace 863 renew piping Remove redundant MM circuit equipment below false floors in BAs (2,?,?) Remove redundant piping, cables, instruments in tunnel (BA4, BA5 etc) Boucle SPS – inlet valve EP filter Prevessin/BA3 to be replaced (not done in LS1) BA1 hydrant disconnector outlet isolating valve ED vase modifications BA2, BA3, BA4, BA5 and BA6 (as BA1) Cable campaigns throughout (removal)

Consolidation 863 plc and supervision upgrade (UNICOS migration) – Q1 2019 4 weeks stoppage! SIG pumping stations (WSNET, WSSPS and WSLHC): replacement of control system 6 weeks stoppage! 893 (CT2) plc and supervision upgrade (UNICOS migration) 5 months stoppage! Consolidation EG piping NA (continue) Sumps consolidation Débitmètre TCSC (TDC2) replacement? (EN-STI) NOTE: 863 and WSSPS works may cut primary water completely and may necessitate the Fire Brigade providing temporary water containers at each BA with fire hydrant water supplied by the ‘Boucle SPS’. Also, HSE-SEE-EN will be involved if any significant drainage of the ‘Boucle SPS’ is needed.

Projects 1 RF Upgrade works BA3 LIU BA3 Siemens and Philips cooling consolidation (2019) BB3 Demineralised water station (January to November 2019) LSS3 manifolds for Terminal Loads (Charges) and cavities (March to July 2019) Access will be restricted to LSS3 during works Beam Dump BA5 New System Cooling Circuit Ventilation Controls Access will be restricted to ECX5 and ECA5 during works

Projects 2 Fire protection SPS – sprinklers, dry risers, ventilation (tunnel fire doors) UPGRADE Install Dry Risers (for duration of LS2) Adding fire dampers on every BA shaft ventilation + consolidation of cold smoke extraction of ECX5/BB5. May have some impact on tunnel ventilation (4 weeks) Modification of automatic sprinkler supply systems (scope not yet defined) EXC4 ventilation extraction dismantling (2 weeks) Modification of tunnel ventilation controls, some short stops expected (2 weeks) Modify shaft extraction – toilet/lift machinery (3 weeks per BA) Balancing of tunnel ventilation (1 week at end LS2) Side Projects Removal of redundant Main Magnet booster pumps in tunnel (2 weeks per pump BAs 1, 3,4, 5 & 6) will require scaffolding in TA Removal tunnel toilets – possibly to include modifications to eau usée/lift puisards (2 weeks per BA)
