The recitation of poetry or prose by a chorus. CHORAL SPEAKING is… The recitation of poetry or prose by a chorus.

UNISON Reciting words together, as a whole group

ANTIPHONAL Using two or more groups, one on either side or surrounding audience

LEADER Use a leader with the chorus choosing to speak random words Use a leader with a chorus choosing to speak significant or important words

MEN vs WOMEN Use men’s and women’s voices in contrast to each other

CANON Speaking in a round (one or more members of the chorus start and others join in at different times, also starting at the beginning)

MOVEMENT Speaking while moving to create interesting sounds

REPETITION Use repetition or echo to create a different effect

AUDIENCE Think about placement of audience in relation to the chorus Do you want to sound close or far away?
