Situation of women in Poland

Situation of women in general During last decades, situation of women In Poland has changed. Nowadays, they are not only the the housewives and mothers looking after their children and families. They more often have their careers, develop themselves and take up different activities. It’s significant that 66% of all students in Poland are women.

Salaries Unfortunately, despite positive trends, statistically women still earn less than men.

Salaries The most important differences between the salaries of women and men are in the industry but they are almost the same in the positions as office workers.

Unemployment The other important fact is that women are more often unemployed than men.

Unemployment At present only 43% of women, compared to 59%, of men are employed. The situation is improving and the employment among women slowly grows up. Between 2005- 2011 the number of employed women has risen of 6.1%.

Q: Is it hard to become a businesswoman in Poland? A: Generally yes. Women  have to cope with stereotypes and prejudices. They still need to face the challenge of settling their household  duties with work. It also seems to be a problem that women in Poland sometimes have not enough courage to pursue their ambitions. The situation are improving now.

Q: How can women overcome those difficulties? A: The most important thing is to establish these advantages that make women special. Women have great intuition, pay attention to details and have an inborn talent of resolving difficult situations. This is how they can prove their value in bussiness.

Q: In which areas of business women are most succesful? A: Women are most succesful in those areas which allow them to prove their greatest advantages. These are mainly areas which require highly specialised knowledge and specific qualifications.

Conclusion Situation of women has constantly been improving. It is not perect but hopefully it will be soon much better.
