A Not So Bright Idea Kevin Black Matt Cowart Andre Wallace Daniel Wicker Bright Idea (Possibly)

Overview Water falls down a ramp and falls into pipe balanced at its center of mass which knocks a ball down another ramp. It then hits a cork acting as a pendulum which swings and hits another marble. That marble then rolls down a ramp and collides with the final marble which acts as a trap door making a lightbulb turn on.

Equations Used in Project Conservation of Energy mgh = 1/2mv^2 + 1/2I^2 Torque  = Frsin Center of Gravity R = (m1r1 + m2r2)/m1+m2 Angular Momentum Ib*b = Ib*b + Ic*c

Design/Construction Issues Prices Pvc pipe $1.00 Wood $5.00 Light Bulb $1.00 Insulation $1.00 Nails $3.00 Marbles $3.00 Issues Making support system Discovering way to turn light Finding center of mass for levers and ramps Time Overall construction

Conclusions Each teammate showed up to every group meeting, supplied materials, and gave 1000%. We hope to “light up” the audience with our Rube Goldberg
