Retractable charging station Cord-Cube Retractable charging station

Problem Our retractable-cord charging station solves the problem of having a cluttered desk with cords laying around everywhere and also keeps all chargers neat and untangled Cord Cube is efficient to keep all wires in one area when moving from one place to another such as from home to the office The product is successful in keeping cords safe and diminishing damage to the cords, possibly extending how long they will work to expectation

Market Questions Do you work or do homework at a desk or have a desk at your home? How many electronics that require daily charging do you own? Approximately how much money do you spend on all your chargers/year? Do the chargers for all your devices often get tangled with each other? How old are you?

What we found out A lot of people don’t have more than one charger and don’t like the idea of not being able to take their charger with them, as it i supposed to stay in the box Many people felt that, though they had a few products to charge, a charging box was needed to organize their wires Some believed that a box would help them keep their chargers in one area and would help when on a trip/traveling

Feature Creep We thought we could add a cloud component to the box Feedback from third years and Krystal we found that we needed to focus more on becoming a really great charging station before we thought about other functions of the box We also found out through consumer feedback that most people already have some form of cloud storage and would not be willing to switch over until we have a more solid foundation for our product

Competitors No competitors have retractable cords to keep them separate and organized All quality charging stations on the market are upwards of $100 and we would make ours much more affordable Competitors not nearly as focused on the organizational aspect- just charging

Cost Structure People will pay for the base platform with any of the desired spools necessary to charge all their devices If people want to charge a device not supported by any of their spools, customers will have to buy a new one

Customer Segments College students and business professionals that want a clean desk space rid of cables sprawled all over the desk Households with a central location to charge devices Large market regardless of focus due to the widespread use of cell phones and other electronic devices

The Cord-Cube Simple, clean design 2 ft. retractable cables Customizable spools Available for ANY device

Value Proposition Sleek Design Promotes product life of cords Cheaper value than competitor

Next Steps Create a legitimate industrial design Have a design for the spool mechanism Look into customizable options on the Cord Cube such as colors, branding, or licensing Create platforms for purchase online (website, amazon, etc.) to ensure that customer receives the types of cord they want and how many

What we learned There is a similar product out there but we have distinct differences Our product has retractable cords and will be priced substantially lower Other similar products are basically a power strip in a box while ours solves the problem of cluttered desks There is a problem with expensive chargers and cluttered desks that we are solving The product will be most successful on the merits of its simplicity rather than complexity
