What is Virtual Owl A “virtual desktop” tool for you computer, allowing you to access software located on a remote computer.” With Virtual Owl, you can access the virtual desktop on or off campus* *Your experience with Virtual Owl will vary depending on your available network connectivity
Notes on Virtual Owl When using Virtual Owl, if your computer is idle for more then 10 minutes, virtual owl will automatically lock your session and take you back to the virtual desktop login screen Virtual Owl must exclusively be used for completing course work. Please refrain from using personal copies of software (e.g. Adobe) as this may cause compatibility issues
Saving During the semester, save all work to the PR4405 class folder, found on the School of Communication – Students Virtual Desktop At the end of the semester, save the entire contents of PR4405 on to a flash drive It is important to backup all files on a flash drive before the end of the semester
Printing To print while using Virtual Owl: In SO5105, print to Ricoh Guest COLOR Printer. Your print job can then be printed form the nearest Ricoh printer In SO3024, print to CP5225-P22346. Your print job will be sent to the local printer On your personal computer, print to your available printer.
