Collective alumni contribution through tifpa (Cont…) Civic Education for the formulation of the New Constitution in Tanzania: Phase I & Phase II Objectives of Phase II - To engage and educate the public, media, and CSOs on meaningful and effective democratic public debate on participation in the new constitution making process. Ifp Tanzania partnerships The Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF) as Think Tank on Research, Policy Analysis and Capacity Development - ESRF has been the IFP International Partner for 10 years. CSOs, the Local Government and other partners as ESRF stakeholders have been IFP collaborating partners during the Recruitment and Selection process Placement Partners Representatives - The British Council, US, Royal Netherlands representative in Tanzania were engaged during Pre Academic (English Language training) and Placement processes

Ifp Tanzania partnerships (Cont…) UNESCO Commission in Tanzania - In the Consultative Committee on the UN Decade on Education for Sustainable Development, the IFP Model was exemplified as the best approach to higher education Ministry of Education - Participation by performing the Alumni Directory launch and also chairing the Policy Dialogues organized by ESRF and IFP Tanzania which created much visibility for the IFP program in Tanzania

Significance of the ifp program in Tanzania Alumni Individual Benefits: - Many are holding high positions in the Government (Director General of Tourism, Chief of Interpol, Chief of Tanzania National Parks etc) - Others are heading international NGO (Legal & Human Rights Centre) their own NGOs (Advocate Firms) National Benefits

Significance of the ifp program in tanzania (Cont…) National Benefits Through the alumni, social justice is touching the lives of the marginalized individuals and societies (the alumni activities within their communities) Leadership for social justice is helping in promoting decision making mechanisms eg the Civic Education for the New Constitution
