AQA P1-4 – Generating energy revision - Lesson Plan NOTE: There is a lot of information to remember in this topic. This lesson was for revision to identify and fill in gaps in their knowledge. Most (but not all) of the questions can be answered using the textbook, some will need GCSE Bitesize. Resources AQA-P1-4-Energy revision sheet AQA-Science A textbooks (change page references if AQA Biology textbook is used) Highlighters Internet devices. Lesson plan Starter: Unscramble key works (Wave, Wind, Solar, Tidal, Geothermal, Hydroelectricity) Main: Students go through AQA-P1-4-Energy revision-Sheet answering what they can and highlighting areas they don’t know. They then go back and use the internet or textbook to answer highlighted sections. Dr A. Johnston, Southampton 2014

Generating electricity-Revision Rearrange these anagrams to give the names of different sources of renewable energy. 1) VAWE 2) DINW 2) ROLAS 4) LATID 3) THAOGERMEL 6) RECYCLEIDIOTTHY

Generating electricity Today you will be revising what you know about generating electricity. You will have 15 minutes to go through the sheet and answer as much as possible. Highlight any sections you feel you know nothing about, you will make sure you come back to these. 3) Fill in the sections you have highlighted. You will need to use the textbooks AND GCSE Bitesize. http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesize/science/aqa/mains/generatingelectricityrev1.shtm Or google ‘GCSE Bitesize Fossil fuels’ and it is the first link
