Super sharks by Nick

I love sharks  I’ve always been fascinated by this big creature that swims so fast. I’m going to tell you some fascinating facts about sharks. Get ready to perk up your eyes & ears for an entertaining presentation! 

A shark’s tail usually has a top part that is longer than the bottom.

A shark’s skeleton isn’t made of hard bone.

A shark moves left and right and up and down by twisting its body and moving its pectoral fins.

The sand tiger shark has curved teeth to snag slippery fish.

Waves of muscle action pass down one side of the shark’s body and then the other. It swings its tail from side to side.

Fast swimming hunters like the blue shark usually have better vision thank sharks that lie still and ambush prey.

Sharks sense water movement with a system called the lateral line.

Sharks roll their eyes back to protect them.

Some sharks also swing their head from side to side to help their teeth cut out a chunk of their food.

Baby sharks have to survive by themselves.
