Grading policy   Academic grades will be based on weekly homework, class work, experiments, current events and quizzes Effort will be directly related to the effort the student puts forth completing assignments accurately, staying on task, and making up missing assignments Conduct grades will be based on behavior related to the breaking of the classroom rules, cooperation with peers and teacher, self control, and respect for others. Grades are averaged by computer and reflect the district’s standard grading scale: A 90-100 Outstanding (GPA 3.50 and up) B 80-90 Good (GPA 2.50-3.49) C 70-90 Needs Improvements (GPA 1.50-2.49) D 60-69 Unsatisfactory (GPA 1.00-1.49) F- 0-59 Intolerable

Class programs and assignments Root Words Every week the students will be given a set of introduced root words which they will develop a vocabulary diagram and biweekly quiz. Bell work The students will be completing a series of classroom prompts which will be graded i-Ready lessons Students will be required to complete one lesson a week (EVERY FRIDAY) or more depending adequate time. Students need a 70% or more to have an “A”, if not they can have grade for effort

Reading Resources Dear Parent/Guardian MyOn Your child can be logging their portal and access to MyOn program online. Your child may need to register with the program by going to the website below. Once your child is registered, they will have a list of audio books they can select from. Students answering the comprehension questions Their graded will be curved based on reading time and completion. Selected Reading Your child can select a book or comic of interest to read during and after school hours EXTRA CREDIT GRADE Grading will be based on the following: Reading book log documenting selected reading or MyON loggin with completed questions
