Mrs. Andres’ Weekly Classroom News August 23, 2017 A.R. started today!!! Have your child read the book that he/she brings home 3 times before signing the A.R. log stating that they are ready to test. I have been working very hard to determine which Cindy Cupp (Jack and Jilly) book each child should begin in. I have sent books home this week for most students. Please review pages 4 and 5 every night. If your child has not received a Jack and Jilly book, it means that they have mastered all of the sight words in Jack and Jilly readers and will no longer be in the Cindy Cupp program. These students will be doing Guided Reading in the classroom. Reading: Setting of a story Language Arts: Sentences; Narratives Math: Place value; composing and decomposing numbers Science: weather and seasons Spelling words, vocabulary words, sight words, and a fluency passage will go home every Monday. Please remember to sign the blue folder every Thursday once you have seen your child’s weekly papers.
