An Adult non-literate is the one who can not Read aloud at a speed of 30 words per minute Read with understanding road signs, posters and news papers Copy with understanding 7 words per minute Take dictation at the rate of 7 words per minute Read and write numbers from 1 to 100 Do simple calculation of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

RILM Adult Literacy Program is Educate adult non-literates (age-15 +) in urban and rural areas, Impart skill development training to adult neo-literates leveraging available government assistance.

Activities under Adult Literacy Program Rotary India Global Dream:- Each One, Reach One, Teach One” campaign Student volunteers (Std. VI – X) teaches non literate adults Adult Literacy Center- Can be set up by Rotary Clubs at a centralised locality in both urban and rural areas, a volunteer-teacher has the sole responsibility of coordinating the center.

Examination and Certification RILM collaborates with NLMA at national level and SLMA at the state level for conducting examination and result They will provide training to Rotary Volunteers and provide question sheets. SLMA will forward the marks to NIOS for certification. Rotary clubs will play significant role in organizing examination, answer sheet checking and distributing certificates.
