Purpose To create a planning and information resource for: Better understanding the ability of current models to reflect observed flooding conditions Providing real-time and post-event evaluations of the effectiveness of county flood management facilities Supporting existing Flood ALERT efforts staffed by HCFCD personnel

Objectives Web-based intranet tool Utilize existing HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS models developed for Harris County Link programs together to ingest rainfall and produce a real-time flood inundation map

Pilot Study Buffalo Bayou and White Oak Bayou Watersheds (unsteady flow network)

FEMP Timing Aspects Rainfall Data = 15 minutes (continuous feed) External Processing Natural Link Link 1 Link 2 Timing Aspects Rainfall Data = 15 minutes (continuous feed) Computation Time = 11 to 14 minutes Antecedant Rainfall = 10 days Link 3
