Who vs. Whom? Who and whom are relative pronouns (refers to pronoun) “Who” is only used when it is referring to the subject of a sentence (nominative case) “Whom” is used when it is referring to the direct object of a sentence or the object of a preposition (objective case)

Rules of Thumb If you can insert the word “he”, then you can use the pronoun “who” If you can insert the word “him”, then you can use the pronoun “whom” “M” is whoM Isolate your clauses! Ex: She is the one who/whom turns many heads.
