Family Unification Program - Changes in the Housing Opportunities Through Modernization Act (HOTMA)

Family Unification Program (FUP): FUP-FSS Demonstration Pairs the Family Self-Sufficiency Program with FUP for youth, giving access to an FSS coordinator and an interest bearing escrow account (as rent increases with increased income the youth will pay into an escrow account and receive the savings at the end of the demonstration). Extends FUP voucher, from now 36 months, to the duration of the FSS contract typically 5 years Gives participating public housing agencies and child welfare agencies opportunities for peer learning The demonstration application process closed on July 15, 2016 and will soon be available in more than 50 communities.
