Mathematics (Foundation)

Aims of the syllabus The syllabus is intended to encourage the students to: 1. Gradually build up mathematical skills and boost students' confidence, in a way which will enable them to experience joy and satisfaction while doing maths. 2. Help students develop their mathematical skills, enrich them, and apply them in the context of everyday situations that require thorough mathematical analysis. 3. Develop students' understanding of essential mathematical principle and certify their appreciation of mathematics as a logical and coherent discipline. 4. Enable students devise and use reliable mathematical models of real world problems. 5. Provide students with appropriate mathematical skills to tackle business- and economics-related problems.
