Scope of BIM implementation in the investment phase of a construction project: system of assessment Marie FRANKOVÁ CTU in Prague, Faculty of Civil Engineering, marie.frankova@fsv.cvut.cz

Objectives A complex system of assessment of applying BIM into the contstuction project (in terms of sustainability, economy, process cohesion, data administration and operation efficiency) Feedback to the investor, contractor and other stakeholders on the scope of BIM implementation into the project A tool for investor´s orientation whether all important measures were introduced in the project and so that the advantages of BIM can be expected

Methods The assessment system is based on Key Performance Indicators (KPI), it involves 10 KPIs. Each KPI has 5 Compliance Indicators and 2-3 Performance Measures. The assessor can use the scale to match the level of fulfilling the measures demanded in the project. Project overall position is then calculated as a total of all the KPI. Based on the Project Overall Position, the project is assigned a colour, each signalising certain evaluation and possible improvements over the time of the project.

Results Outcomes of the assessments provide the investor with an immediate view whether the project is following its planned schedule and also provides the opportunity for timely intervention. Creating individual assessments at regular intervals ensures, that during a period of time will form many assessments of similar projects, so it will be the ability of these projects to compare and gain suggestions for improvement or general evaluation of BIM effectiveness.
