Tariffs Decision on ESB PES Tariffs to apply 1st May DG1-6 average 10% reduction in tariffs achieved through re-profiling of distribution revenue LEU customers will remain at their current rates. They will receive payments by cheque proportionate to the reductions through re-profiling as outlined in the consultation paper. CER will publish Information Note setting out process

Smart Metering (1) Electricity Residential CBT 5,960 residential customers accepted as of 29th April which exceeds 5,375 target – surplus put on “reserve” list. List of “key stakeholders” to be included in CBT is currently being finalised – c.100 nominations Meter installations commenced on 15th Dec-08. Over 5325 installed by 25th May – missed end-April target but buffer in place to cover this

Smart Metering (2) Electricity SME CBT 865 customers recruited by 14th April which exceeds the 728 target (surplus on “reserve” list) 450 SME meters installed by 25th May – behind schedule due to recruitment delays resulting from supplier withdrawals & late delivery of 3 phase meters.

Smart Metering (3) GAS Residential & SME CBT Revised gas trials proposal agreed (2,725meters) Stimuli: detailed billing, IHDs, Web (SME only); existing tariff & one new tariff. 1,925 gas meters for Residential “experimental” trial. 50 gas meters are required for Gas SME case studies – to supplement results from British SME trials. 750 gas meters for technical trials. Meter procurement in progress with ESBN Prepayment (Gas & Electricity) Trial proposal presented to Steering Group. Tender details to be agreed.

Electricity Retail Market Information Report 2008 Retail Market Information Report for 2007 was published in June 2008 – contains statistics on overall customer nos, consumption, load profiles, market shares, price data and churn rates. Suggestions on content/format e.g. include market share data by supplier, update on Q1 of 2009 To improve transparancy and facilitate future competition in retail market

Customer Switching Issues DSFA Connection letter issued by ESBN on CoS has been cancelled Customer readings (actuals) being submitted to supplier and not being processed/timed out after 3 days => final customer bill based on estimated reading. Estimate may be too high, no recourse for customer. Information on schedule of reads available online DSFA Meeting held with DSFA and industry 20th February BGE has circulated a proposal for administration of the scheme. Connection letter cancelled from 13th may
