Presentation transcript:

Welcome to fifth grade! We feel privileged that you have entrusted the growth and learning of your child to us. We take this job seriously, and strive to do our best each and every day. There are many exciting things happening this year. All fifth graders will have access to a Chromebook, and we plan to use this technology in all subject areas. Students will participate in online learning and complete several projects. Also, we will be starting several clubs that students may be interested in such as Chess Club, Chorus, Student Council, Science Olympiad, and Math Fair. Our goal is to extend learning beyond the walls of the classroom. As you may already know, students in fifth grade will take EOG’s in reading, math, and science. These are our main focus areas, however we will be placing a heavy emphasis on reading. It is our district’s North Star. A child may excel in math and science, however they will have to read the test in order to do well. Reading well is a skill that you need for every aspect of your life. Please help us by encouraging your children to read at home. Look for weekly emails from us to keep you informed about the great things your children are doing! We look forward to working WITH you. Ms. Hill, Mrs. Golden, Ms. Miller, and Mr. Pueschel.
