Why are Ant and Dec Great Britons? They grew up in very humble surroundings in Newcastle-upon- Tyne and found fame on the children’s TV show ‘Byker Grove’. Their career has gone from strength to strength proving that anything is possible. They have won countless awards for their music, acting and TV presenting careers and most recently have been awarded the OBE for their services to broadcasting and entertainment. In a 2004 poll for the BBC, Ant & Dec were named the eighteenth most influential people in British culture.
