Presentation transcript:

Our War Heroes It seems like every news story, television show or movie concentrates on showing the most negative stereotypes of our race. Be it violent criminals or rappers degrading themselves and our women; we are bombarded daily with these images of non-achieving people who contribute nothing to our once proud legacy. This is a false image, an image that threatens all that is precious to our history in this country. But today I want to share with you some of the names and faces of those who have given their lives in the line of fire. There are over 100 dead African -American Soldier, Sailors, Airmen and Marines that have fallen since the war on terror began. This presentation does not contain all of their faces, I apologize for this and hope that I will someday be able to find them all. These people have largely gone unnoticed in the news media, but they should be in all of our hearts. I know they’re in mine and my condolences go out to the families of these people. May God rest their souls. So, turn on your speakers, double click your mouse and take a moment to feel their lives, sacrifice and their sorrow. Clyde D. Never Forget Black servicemen and women have served this country proudly since the Revolutionary war. We have served when we were still slaves, we have served when we didn’t have the right to vote and we serve unquestionably now in a war whose result may or may not benefit us. Let us never forget these faces, these proud descendants of African slaves who gave their lives so that we may prosper in ours. There are currently over 800 servicemen and women who have lost their lives in the war on terror . “You never need an argument against the use of violence, you need an argument for it.” Noam Chomsky
