Background and objectives ANALYSIS OF THE QUESTIONNAIRES: Sport Activities Background and objectives The purpose of this report is to survey students’ attitude to sports and their free time activities by doing preliminary research with the young people in the Netherlands, Italy, Norway and Hungary. We investigated what kind of sports students do, prefer, what infuences them, the schools’ sport facilities, what they do to be fit. Furthermore, we tried to get insight into the activities students pursue in their free time. The results of the survey are the follows:

Do you do any competitive sports? The students from the Netherlands are leading it again with 51%. In Hungary,Italy and Norway the situation is nearly similar between 30 and 50 %. In Hungary 70%, in Norway 50%, in Italy 40%, of the students do rarely or never do any competitive sports.

Which form of sport do you prefer?

In Hungary and the Netherlands 50% of the students do team sport. In Norway and Italy 50% do team sports and 50% do individual sports.

What kind of sport do you prefer?

Every country prefers ball games. For nearly 30% of the students running comes the 2nd place. In Italy the selection is varied, after ball games the proportion is similar.

How often do you take part in the school’s sport activities after lessons?

In Hungary and the Netherlands about 70% do not take part in sport activites after lessons. In Norway about 50% do not take part in them. In Italy about 40-60% do sports in the afternoon.

Who influences you in connection with sport?

In the Netherlands and Norway in about 40% of the cases it is the coach or the P.E. teacher who influence them. In Hungary and Italy in 25% of the cases an Olympic champion is the influencer. In Italy 33% of the students says that the family has influence on them.

How fit are you?

In Norway the 36% is super!!! In Hungary, Italy and the Netherlands 50% of the students are fit. In Italy 33% feel their health condition is bad.

What do you do to be fit? In Hungary 47% do sports and 41% In the Netherlands 50% do sports and 20% do free time activities. In Italy 30% do not do anything to be fit,24% do sports and 47% do free time activites. In Norway 37% do sports, 32% do free time activities and 23% do not do anything to be fit.
