SwissIX is a volounteer driven Internet Exchange with many sponsors – therefore all ports are *FREE* ! (FreeIX Paris was the godfather of SwissIX) 2

SwissIX today (Oct. 21 / 22, 2006) 60 active participants: Among local and Swiss wide operating ISP's some international participants are connected: Lambdanet, Scan-Plus, UPC ... Not only Carriers / ISP's, but also public and private corporations and authorities like Bundesamt für Informatik (Swiss Government) and Informatik der Stadt Bern (City Government) 3

SwissIX today (Oct. 21 / 22, 2006) Almost two dozen in the setup procedure, which takes between days and years ... Google is about to connect. 4

SwissIX Association SwissIX is an association under the Swiss law. Membership in the association is optional for peering participants, but most welcome. Membership gives voting right in the yearly general assembly. Fee: CHF 100.00 / year 10
