Big Picture for OGSA information services Supply side Resource Manager Logging Service Scheduler Message Broker Metering Service Directory Service OGSA Services Platform Services Platform information services Producer Consumer OGSI / WSRF extent use

Platform Information Services There are common producer and consumer interface Core proposal from GMA group Requirements listed in Abdeslem’s doc Common interfaces which are extended (inherited) by higher level services Platform Services Platform information services Producer Consumer OGSI / WSRF

OGSA service extents platform information services Service A extents supplier service Service C extents consumer service Service B extents both supplier and consumer service A B C OGSA Services extent use Platform Services Platform information services Supplier Consumer OGSI / WSRF

Intermediary service (= OGSA information Service) OGSA information services Intermediary service has both supplier and consumer interface Each service has different semantics (pattern) described in Bill’s slides Each service has different QoS Logging Service Message Broker Directory Service OGSA Services Platform Services Platform information services Supplier Consumer

Use relations between OGSA services “Resource manager” registers resource information into “directory service” “Scheduler” retrieves available resource information from “directory service” “Resource manager” logs usage records into “logging service” “Metering service” collects usage records from “logging service” for billing (3) Supply side Resource Manager Logging Service Scheduler (4) Message Broker Metering Service (1) (2) Directory Service

Logging service Logging service is fully defined by Bill’s document Logging service extends both supplier and consumer interface Logging service has its special requirements and interfaces

Event OGSA Standard event schema is necessary to define Based on the event schema defined by WSDM-TC and CMM-WG Logging service and message broker use OGSA event No “event service”

Message plumbing Message service has two aspect Plumbing include reliable delivery is binding (transport) issue and is not OGSA service Additional messaging semantics is provided by “message broker” and is one of OGSA information service
