Lateral Flow Devices (LFD) For diagnosis of plant pathogenic diseases Biodegradable Nutri-Releasing mulch film
CONTENT Lateral Flow Devices (LFD) For diagnosis of plant pathogenic diseases- Introduction Procedure Test Interpretation Advantages
Introduction Lateral Flow Devices (LFD) are for rapid, on-site and field diagnosis of viral, bacterial and fungal disease in plants. User-friendly test, growers, inspectors and consultants are able to make instant, reliable decisions in minutes. Lateral Flow Tests can operate as either competitive or sandwich ELISA.
LIA can be applied for… LIA based devices in plants for Lateral flow immunochromatographic assays (LIAs) present for Diabetes/Pregnancy test LIA simple colour change detection of presence or Absence of a target analyte. LIA based devices in plants for -FARMER/Rural -Workers/Extension -field Officers Diagnose of the pathogen On field At Early stage With Accuracy TB detection
How to Use Select the sample Cut or tear sample into small pieces and put into bottle Shake firmly for 30-60 seconds to break up the sample Draw liquid into pipette (avoid sample debris and air bubbles) Keeping the test device level, add 2 drops into the sample well of the device Valid results within 10 minutes
Test Interpretation One line present only at the C line indicates a negative result. Two lines present, at both the T and C line indicates a positive result. The absence of a line at C indicates the test has failed and must be repeated.
Advantages You can make a rapid diagnosis and to ensure healthy crops without waiting for laboratory test results. It doesn't require the need for specialized and costly equipment It will help to maintain healthy crops, plants and stocks.
II. Biodegradable Nutri-Releasing mulch film
II. Biodegradable Nutri-Releasing mulch film Mulching –at present known as Compostable film NPK – micronutrient: Release with time in response to sun-light/ Irrigation etc. Area of research
Introduction Produced by the biomass ( plant starch) with addition of plant nutrient. suitable for automated precision farming & sustainable agriculture Do not requiree removal and disposal operation from the field Alternative to polyethylene - non recyclable waste thus decreasing the environmental pollution
Comparative study of plastic & bioplastic film
Degradation of bioplastic film
Better yield reported with compostable Mulch
Conclusion Promoting organic farming & sustainable development need to evolved technical devices reducing the economic cost associated with thesee operations
Cont… Products of future Agricutlure Early Precise Diagnostic Automated – precision farming
