Rancho Simi Park and Recreation District: Mission Statement “To enrich life in our community by striving to offer our residents the finest park system in the State of California. A system that provides parks that are maintained at the highest level possible, parks that are planned and developed through an innovative and creative thought process, and recreational programs and activities that promote and encourage a healthy lifestyle for the entire family. Our employees shall be those who are dedicated to serving the public with vigor and integrity. The District will help promote, protect, and preserve our natural hillsides and valleys for the enjoyment of future generations.”

What Meeting, Convention And Event Planners Do Meeting, convention, and event planners coordinate all aspects of events and professional meetings. They arrange meeting locations, transportation, and other details.

Why Rancho Simi Park and Recreation District? Since there are many park districts in California, working for one is a legitimate career opportunity for our local students. This PowerPoint will help our students to be better prepared for future employment with one of the many park districts around the state.

How Can Local Students Gain Employment With RSPRD? Take initiative in seeking employment instead of relying on parents. Fill out job applications completely and legibly. Practice calling a supervisor and giving all the information required. Practice and display interview skills. Dress the part. Be aware of your social media presence. If your desired position is currently not available, accept the open position instead. You will get to your desired position as soon as it is available (and you have proven yourself).

What Do RSRPD Employees Do? There are many ways to become an employee of a park district. Concerning job openings in the recreation department, currently only a Recreation Supervisor II and the Director of Recreation need a degree. The employment classifications and monthly pay ranges are available in the document “RSRPD salaries.pfd” Current job openings are posted under http://www.rsrpd.org/employment/employment_opportunities/index.php.
