Inquiry Genius Block

What does the word “inquiry” mean? a request for information an act of asking a question a search for facts or answers investigating

How do we do “inquiry”?

Inquiry Steps Connect and Wonder E.g. I know orcas live in the ocean, but do they live in all oceans? Investigate E.g. look in books, on the internet and watch video.

Construct E.g. Orcas live in all oceans around the world, but they are most commonly found in the Arctic, Antarctic, off the west coast of Canada and the US. Express E.g. Making a poster presentation with my question, answer and a few pictures to show my topic Reflect E.g. Thinking about my learning, the process and other questions I might have. Such as, do orcas in different oceans look different?

Let’s Start What I Know What I Wonder -orcas are dolphins -do all orcas eat seals? -skateboards have four wheels -could a skateboard have two wheels? -many artists come from Europe -how did famous artists learn to paint? -donuts have holes in the middle -how to they make the hole in a donut? -blue and yellow make green -are people still inventing colours?
