High School Graduation Requirements 4.0 Language Arts 1.0 Language Arts 9 1.0 Language Arts 10 1.0 Language Arts 11 1.0 Language Arts 12, ANY English class, or 3rd Level (or higher) World Language 3.0 Math 1.0 Secondary Math 1 1.0 Secondary Math 2 1.0 Secondary Math 3 See page 11 in the Booklet Blue and Gold Handouts Many colleges like to see an additional Math and Science class taken during high school.

Creating a 4-Year High School Plan (Page 12-13) Before you start: Know the admissions requirements at your target colleges. Are you an athlete? Know NCAA requirements. Block out classes for JATC How many class periods? Is it one or two semesters? Will you do it for more than one year? Are you participating in athletics, music, leadership, etc.? Block out classes for these. Know all the requirements for your chosen Scholarships. Regents Academic New Century

If you know the names of specific classes you would like to take, write those in. Otherwise, just write in the type of credit you need.

9th Grade Course Selection (Page 13) 9th Graders can take 2.5 credits of electives. However, many students want to take 3.0 credits. (For example, 1.0 credit of Band, 1.0 credit of Foreign Language, and 1.0 credit of Seminary) *Note: No credit is awarded for Seminary, but it does take up 1.0 credit of space in a student’s schedule Taking 3 credits of electives will not fit into the student’s schedule.

9th Grade Course Selection To accommodate 3 credits of electives, Students can take 9th grade PE (PST) online or over the summer. Look for information on how to do this at registration time. Now 3.0 Elective credits fit into the schedule because PST was taken online or over the summer. If the student is taking seminary, another option is to take early morning seminary for one semester. Contact the seminary building at registration time for information on how to sign up...
