Online Version of ONeNote To access the online version of OneNote or your Class Notebook Go to www.mcs4kids.com Students (Green Tab) Applications Office 365 Sign-in with your MCS login and password Click on either OneNote or Class Notebook
The Layout of OneNote The top ribbon looks very similar to Word Home, Insert, Draw, History, Review, View, and Class Notebook (If download) Your Notebooks are in a drop-down menu on the left side The sections of the currently opened Notebook are the multi-colored The Pages of the section are it the side menu to the right The giant open white area is the work space
How Insert PrintOuts To insert printouts, there are two options: Option 1 – Insert from within OneNote Open OneNote Click “Insert” menu Click “File Printout” Search for the file you want to insert Option 2 – Print into OneNote Open the file you want to insert Open the printing options Instead of choosing your printer, choose “Print to OneNote”
The Insert Tab All of the major options for recording into OneNote File Printout – Talked about on the previous slide File Attachment – Inserts a link to the file Spreadsheet – Inserts an editable Spreadsheet from Excel Screen Clipping and Pictures – Pictures or Specifically taken/edited screenshots (Quick Clip and Chrome add-on) Audio and Video Recording – Playable audio and video files embedded Page Templates – Changes the layout to an expandable templates Equations and Symbols – Insert-able equations and symbols
The Draw Tab Type, Lasso Select, Eraser - Cursor Options Quick color Selection – Common color and line thickness selections Color and Thickness Menu – Full color menu, line thickness choices, and pen vs highlighter Shapes Drop-down Menu Editing Selections Convert Inking to Text (including mathematical symbols)
The View Tab The Review Tab Page Color Rule Lines – Allows you add lines to the background of OneNote (College, Wide, and Grid Rule) New Docked Window – Pins a window of OneNote to the right side of the screen to take notes on another program The Review Tab Spelling and thesaurus tools Translation tool Password Protection
Notebooks Using the drop down menu for Notebooks, you can: Open a Notebook Click on any Notebook title Create a Notebook Click “Add Notebook” Select where to save it and Name it Close a Notebook (Remove from menu) Right click on Notebook and select “Close This Notebook” Delete a Notebook Right click on Notebook and select “Notebook Recycle Bin”
Sections The colorful tabs are the sections of the notebook You can add sections by clicking the plus tab next to your sections To delete a section, right click the section and select “Delete” Copy or Move a Section into a different Notebook
Pages To add a page, click the “Add Page” To delete or Rename, Right Click to bring up menu Rearrange the page order Copy or Move Pages to different Sections and Notebooks Make a Page into a Subpage Click and hold the page, then slide it to the right

Creating a Notebook Click the Notebook dropdown menu Select “Add Notebook” Select where you would like to save the Notebook Given this is a test run, you may want to save to your PC Name your Notebook (Yes, this is your Notebook’s name)
Things you should try Check out the OneNote Online versus the OneNote app Ink (Write and draw) Add in a document (Word, PDF, module) Create Sections and Pages Rename the Sections and Pages Change the Page Layout for specific pages (Color and grid lines) Test out the New Dock Window
