Morphological Characters ISOLATION OF MULTIPLE DRUG RESISTANT Citobacter sp. AR2 FROM GANGES WATER Atanu Roy1*, Anuradha Banerjee1, Diganta Sarkar1, Prateeti Basu2, Rima Roy2 and Madhumita Roy1 1Department of Biotechnology, Techno India University, Salt Lake Campus Kolkata 700091. 2Department of Microbiology, Techno India University, Salt Lake Campus, Kolkata 700091. Introduction In 2007 River Ganga has been declared as the fifth most polluted river in the world1,2. Dumping of industrial and municipal sewage has made the river water a breeding ground for multiple antibiotic resistant coliforms 3,4. This present study was conducted to study the presence of multi drug resistant coliforms in Ganges water collected from two heavily populated ghats of Kolkata and Howrah: Dakhinweswar and Belur. Results and Discussion Growth curve of Citrobacter sp.AR2  Morphological Characters Citrobacter sp.
