The Goal of the Visioning: Build consensus with membership on what we want to achieve in the next 5 years What do we want our club to be known for in 5-years (Mission statement) Set goals in each avenue of service: Club Service Vocational Service Community Service International Service New Generations (Youth)
Mission Statement Our Sample Rotary Club works to build healthy communities locally and internationally. We achieve these goals with honesty, integrity and action. We build friendships locally and internationally. We encourage all Rotarians to volunteer in our world wide community We embrace diversity in our membership. All club functions are welcoming, friendly, light hearted and fun! Don is working on developing ours

Club Service Goals Keep members engaged Both breakfast and lunch are thriving meetings At least 6 firesides per year Large community events to raise awareness about Rotary
Community Service Goals Collaborate with other organizations for projects Nature Center Cleanup – Partnering to establish and maintain trails Increased participation in Choices in order to continue to deliver it to all 8th graders in Eagle River Take lead in establishing “My House” type of service in Eagle River.
Vocational Service Goals Job shadowing and mentoring for high school youth Continue annual Vocational Service Award Create annual 4-way test/ethics speaking/essay contest for high school scholarship 6 4-year scholarships of $5,000 each
International Service Goals International project every 3-5 years in place of district grant community project Establish a sister club relationship in another country Polio eradication 4 members support hospital in Africa Organize & complete a global grant project
New Generation Goals Sponsor additional youth exchange student 30+ member Interact Club in local high school 4 students participate in RYLA each year Active relationship with Rotaract Interact/Rotaract member on club board (requires a by-law change)
Fundraising Wine & beer tasting Establish an Alaska Excursion Package and market it to Rotarians worldwide Continue with I-did-a-duck and/or restructure prize format Theater performance
Foundation Goals $10k/year to Polio Plus until eradicated 100% of club members are Paul Harris Fellows Incorporate an optional donation to the Rotary Foundation in club dues
Leadership Goals Develop a succession plan President Elect’s participate in Leadership Academy All committee chairs attend District Training Assembly Incoming board shadow outgoing board
Now What? Create a Vision Statement Create an “Elevator Speech” Assess where we are in each category Develop & implement plans to achieve goals Periodically report back to club and adjust plans
