In the passive sentences, if we want to say who did or what caused the action,use (by)

active Japanese eat raw fish passive Raw fish is eaten by Japanese

In the passive sentences we use the correct form of verb to be (is or are)

For singular objects we use is active My mother makes my sandwich. passive My sandwich is made by my mother.

For plural objects we use are active Trees block two main roads in Scotland. passive Two main roads are blocked by trees in Scotland.

A rich man buys three cars. Examples A rich man buys three cars. Three cars are bought by a rich man

Mrs. Miller teaches computer lessons Computer lessons are taught by Mrs. Miller.

The orchestra plays the classical music The classical music is played by the orchestra.

The police rescue the man The man is rescued by the police.
