Cook’s Corner of Westmore: February 1st-5th Cook’s Corner of Westmore: *In Reading Workshop we continued our Nonfiction Unit. We finished talking about our Text Structure-Compare and Contrast. *In Writing Workshop we continued our Nonfiction Writing Unit. We finished our “How to Make Hot Chocolate” Explanatory Piece. We are beginning to gather research on our topics for our Informative Essay. *In Math Workshop we continued Chapter 7 “Division Facts and Strategies”. *In Science we began Chapter 4 “Plants and Animals Living Together”. *In our Read Aloud we finished Mr. Popper’s Penguins. Tests Next Week: Tues.-Chapter 7 Math Test Thurs.-math fact timed test Birthdays Natalie’s birthday is Feb. 6th! Please Check Out: *Please check with your child if he/she needs any supplies to be replenished at school. *We are beginning to collect research for our Informative Essays. Please ask your child if he/she needs any additional information for his/her topic. We have already used Chromebooks and our library to gather info. but some students still need more resources from our Public Libraries or to gather more information and to print out from home (diagrams, photographs, etc.).
