Reducing chemical pesticide use Pesticide Management in Laos Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF): Department of Agriculture play an importance role to monitor pesticides in the whole country . All imported pesticide products should be approved by DOA. Develop regulation Ministry of Industry and Commerce: Pesticides import under the permission of MAF Ministry of Health: Control pesticide residue in agriculture products

3. survey results for Rice plant hoppers, rice viruses and plant species

There had no more serious of Planthoppers (GPH, BPH, WPH and ZPH)or virus outbreak in three provinces where were surveyed, but there had only more population of Green planthopper, they didn’t damage rice plant. The peak migration time in planthopper was from half February to last March, but it was not serious in the rice field. There was also had not the peak occurrence time in rice viruses in rice plant areas.

Project plan Continue to Survey for rice planthopper and viruses infection of rice plant, monitoring of planthoppers with light trap and monitoring of planthoppers with yellow sticky traps. Publish as newspaper, newsletter, booklets, etc of the research results to every part of the country, especially the locations where have rice production.
