Learning Intentions Success Criteria We’re learning to… We’ll know we’re successful when we can… understand what the Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) holiday is; identify what the key cultural components are of the celebrations for the holiday; compare and contrast our cultural celebrations and holidays to the Day of the Dead   do research on the holiday explain the significance of the Día de los Muertos holiday in our own words create a visual representation of one component of the holiday and teach our peers in 1-2 minutes why this component is significant

Task: Research your mystery word on the Internet with your partner. Record words/phrases/sketches of what the concept is, so you can… Utilize your research to create a visual representation to help you teach your peers about your topic.

Your visual representation must include: the term in bold, legible letters and large hand drawn image(s) that represent the concept on the outside of the paper a definition written in your own words on the inside of the paper Your teaching part must include: an introduction of the word a brief oral explanation of why that concept is a significant part of this holiday/celebration (1-2 minutes max.) each partner speaking equally (!!!)
