Dream Seeker’s Through a partnership with The Tennessee Department of Children’s Services (DCS), SMA is a Community Collaborative Partner, supporting families in crisis. SMA also services, mentors and advocates for young people transitioning out of foster care. Through the Jim Casey Youth Opportunities Initiative, the appropriate people, systems and resources are provided for participants, offering: Financial education Individual Development Account (matched savings) Substance abuse prevention/counseling Classes in anger management, goal-setting, parenting, etc. The Dream Seekers Resource Center will be a place for participants to “hang out”, obtain services and live in transition. this slide when Reginald is speaking

Stand By Me Through another partnership, with The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), SMA provides HIV/AIDS testing, education and prevention through its Stand By Me program. Stand by Me is a youth intervention project allowing SMA to provide effective, professional, age-appropriate behavioral health education services to those ages 13 to 21, with: this slide when Reginald is speaking anger management HIV/AIDS prevention education substance abuse prevention GOAL setting Life Skills training (resume writing, civic engagement, and volunteer opportunities)

Teen Plus and Hope Chest Through a partnership with The Shelby County Office of Early Childhood and Youth (OECY), SMA offers pregnancy and parenting support through the OECY Teen Plus program, offering teens needed services, mentoring and advocacy. SMA’s Hope Chest is housed at the Dream Seekers Resource Center, and is one of four OECY Teen Plus baby stores, where participants receive store items, such as diapers, formula, cribs, play yards, high chairs, strollers, car seats and more by points earned through engaging in parenting classes, HIV/AIDS prevention education, and more. this slide when Reginald is speaking

Community Laundry and Resource Center Laundry is something we all do, and with a new and improved facility, residents will be proud to spend their time at this facility. Guests, while there, will have the opportunity to tap into needed resources.
